The shop was started in the winter of 2015 when it was determined that years of industry experience and cycling passion were worth taking a chance on. Since then, it has grown from a garage-based repair shop into a new storefront with facets of community involvement including two teams, weekend shop rides, and year-round enthusiasm for cycling in the South Sound.
Our logo is inspired by indigenous trees within the Tacoma area. The top half of the tree in the logo is from our local mountain bike park, Swan Creek, and the lower half is from a popular road spot at Point Defiance Park. Just like the trees, we are proud to be rooted in the local Pacific Northwest cycling community.
Joey is awesome. Welcoming, informative and reasonably priced for us regular folks on our regular bikes. Also does some crazy awesome high end work for those that want amazing elite equipment.
This is a great shop! They were able to fix the breaks on my mother's walker with a very short turn around time. I was quite impressed with this friendly and professional crew.
I called this morning (Monday), not knowing they were closed. They answered and when I shared that I needed my double stroller tires fixed, he said the door’s open, I’d be happy to help! He was quick to find the issues, ordered me a new front tire, and carried it back out to the car! I am super impressed with his willingness to help this mama of four! I will definitely be passing on his information to all my friends and family!
Small locally owned bike shop. The owner is a customer where I work and he is always a nice guy. Fixed a mess up I had when I stripped a screw for a great price. This guy knows his bikes 🚲💯
Joey is an awesome person and does even more awesome work. I have had Joey build a wheel set for me as well as work on my multiple bike. Joey has never let me down, he has repaired significant damage and always been fair with his work. I will continue to use Indigenous Wheel Co for my wheel and bike needs, Joey is an important part of the community.
Joey has filled a void in the Tacoma area with a shop that encourages community involvement, camaraderie among all cyclists (regardless of discipline), and - most importantly- top quality parts and service. We have brought multiple "challenges" to him with our bikes and he has consistently exceeded our expectations, all while providing some of the friendliest and most honest customer service I've experienced in a long time. If you have a bike, want a bike, or know someone with a bike, check out this shop and you will not be disappointed.
Joey is very knowledgeable and accessible. Took my bike in for a race day tune up and he was happy to explain what he was doing. Very upfront and conscientious, didn't try to sell me on things I didn't need. Highly recommend.
Great service. Very speedy. Other bike shops in Tacoma take a week plus to fix your bike, Joey gets its done in half the time. Affordable. Highly recommend.
